The only reason why it's crap is because the kids who do nothing and fail, should we make it non-mandatory and just have those slackers work the jobs of the illegal immigrants, that way education is saved, tax dollars are not wasted and illegal immigration is solved.
3 birds shot with one bullet.
Every child has the right to a education, but a right is not a right if they are forced to go. Truancy makes this forceful.
You can't go back to the days of illiterates since the child already knows how to read by 9th grade (hopefully).|||I agree. People who don't care about their education are lowering the standards for education, because teachers are having to dumb down the material so these people can pass.|||All students should be able to pass at least a 10th grade level of high school.
Students that want to continue their education after high school should go through community college level courses.
Students that would rather not go to college should opt for vo-tech training: cosmetology, mechanics, hvac techs, etc.
And if students drop out of high school, they should not be allowed to get their drivers license until the age of 21 and have a GED.|||Yes! Vocational training is neglected. Machinists, airplane mechanics, etc make alot of money. Forcing kids to learn calculus who will never use it in their lives is counter productive.|||I actually I Would like to see similar thing happen here like in Germany
Where instead of going into High School people go into Trade Schools, where they basically get their College Training while at the Age where we usually send kids into High School!|||No. An uneducated populace cannot be free in this modern society. I would agree to this only if the goal were to create an uneducated underclass that we can exploit.|||Yes.
Because a high school education is so expensive these days.
It now takes four years of college to achieve one.|||No.
