How can i start saving some real money?

I want to start saving some money to futher my education but i just keep spending. What do i do?|||Just stop spending so much. Exercise your self-discipline and either leave money in your bank account, or open a separate account and stash money there.

You have a choice in what and whether you buy. Control your spending even if you don't feel like it -- you don't want to be too broke for an education, then spend the rest of your life scrimping and saving because you can't get a good job.

Save now or save forever. Your choice.|||What about some investments, or bonds?

Look into setting some sort of accounts where you can not even access the money until a few years from now.|||Set up an automatic deposit from your account so that every month your bank transfers money into a savings account. That way you won't be tempted to spend it.|||Every paycheck or every other one, take $25 out and turn it into a savings bond. That way you will have to wait until it matures to receive the money. Plus you will be making money by doing this!|||Start with a lesser cell phone plan.|||You have to figure out what you want to "do" "be" and "have" in your future.

What do you want to "do" in 5 - 10 years?

What do you want to "be" in 5 - 10 years?

What do you want to "have" in 5 - 10 years?

If you really ... truly want to make those things happen for yourself, you WILL take the steps to make them happen.

...NOT going out for meals can save lots of money. NOT going out for coffee or soft drinks will also save you lots of money.

If you want to "pretend" to spend the money on coffee, then buy a drink from Starbucks or whatever ... then wash out that cup and use it (filling it with something from home). NOBODY will dig off in that cup to verify whether or not it is really Starbucks coffee.

When it comes to not spending money on going out for lunches/dinners, you can do what lots of people do ... take your lunch/dinner. I myself do this because I absolutely hate garlic, and garlic is getting put in almost everything right now. NOBODY I know seems to care at all that I prefer to eat my own, homemade meals. As a matter of fact, most of them say, "I've got to start doing that, too! You're eating much healthier foods than I am!"|||Open a CD (certificate of deposit) then you cant touch your money but you get lots of interest and you don't have to worry about losing your money like the stock market.
